KBD shear dowels by KONTAKT - SK consist of anchors made of B 500B reinforcing steel with diameters dA = 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 25, with a forged head on both ends, and a mounting rail made of flat steel. The anchors and the mounting rail form an assembly with, as standard, two or three anchors per rail. Assemblies with a larger number of anchors can also be ordered. Shear dowels are designed to resist shear forces at local supports (columns) of floor or foundation slabs, preventing so-called punching of the slab in the area of the column head or foot. These shear dowels make it possible to construct floor slabs without a thickened column head and without disruptive beams. The installation of the shear dowels is shown in the following figure.
